Former President of Pakistan, Ehsan Mani, retreated to Shahid Afridi’s explosive statements on the current situation of Pakistan’s Cricket and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi.
AFRIDI recently stated that the current PCB President Mohsin Naqvi admitted to having no knowledge of a cricket and compared Pakistan’s cricket with a critical patient at the ICU.
However, Ehsan Mani dismissed the controversial observations of Afridi, calling -the non -foundation. The former PCB president felt that Afridi had certainly had personal agendas behind this attack.
Mani made it clear that he does not give credibility to these criticism, refusing to comment on Afridi’s statements. Ehsan Mani was quoted by Hindustan Times: “I do not give any credibility to what Shahid Afridi or no one says.
“They have their personal agendas or anything. That’s how it would not go there. There is no comment on it. All I would say is that the leadership must come from the President and the Board of Directors of PCB. For the rest, I do not give much credibility to these criticisms.”
Ehsan Mani, who served as President of the PCB from 2018 to 2021, offered his perspective on the situation as a result of strong criticism after the departure of his group stage of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. They could not qualify in the semifinals in the World Cup of Hate of 2023 and 2024 T20, struggling to deliver the formats.
Mani, who served as President of the PCB from 2018 to 2021, has raised his concern about the Pakistan’s struggle system after his poor performances in important tournaments. With early departures to the ICC 2025 Champions Trophy, the World Hate Cup of 2023 and the World Cup of 2024 T20, the former President of the PCB believes that there are deeper problems than only failures in the field.
He insisted that Pakistan has a lot of talent, but the lack of a strong cricketing structure does not help them. Remembering his time as President of the PCB, Mani mentioned his efforts to introduce a new domestic format, but now urged the Council to take serious measures to reconstruct the system.
In addition, Mani said: “Look, there is no shortage of talent in Pakistan. It’s about going back and rethinking how to advance Pakistan or Cricket. He had begun the process by introducing a new format for first class cricket, and in fact, for all ways of cricket to Pakistan, based on provincial teams. What we are having in Pakistan is very much, Very little cricket quality. “
He believes that Pakistan needs a competitive and modern configuration to make the best of his players. Mani was signed by saying, “I think people have to return to the point of ensuring that the basic structure of the game in Pakistan is suitable for purposes and is suitable for current requirements.
Well, PCB has to go back and look at the whole structure of the game in Pakistan. Make sure there is a high quality competitive cricket, which is not the case today in Pakistan. “”
