Clubs that win their first round games at the EFL Cup 2025/26 will not have to wait for an immediate reward in the form of the draw for the second round.
Championship teams, League 1 and League two face seven potential rounds in the competition, with up to six per Premier League Clubs.
Liverpool’s first flight champions have won the EFL Cup 10 times, followed by Manchester City with eight and Manchester United with six.

The draw will take place at approximately 19:20 BST (14:20 ET / 11:20 Pt) on Wednesday, August 13, during the accumulation of the Birmingham City tie against Sheffield United.

The 11 Premier League clubs that do not participate in the European competition will be part of the draw, giving EFL clubs their first shots to provide discomfort this season.
The nine Premier League teams in Europe will be included in the third round of the EFL Cup in September.
The first round started during the second week of the EFL season. A new preliminary round also started at the end of July between the two promoted clubs in the National League last season and teams that ended 21 and 22 in the second league.
There will be weeks divided in the third round for the clubs of the Champions league and Europa League.
