Drones loaded with explosives, kill three Colombian soldiers

Three soldiers were killed in a drone attack in the southwest of Colombia, who was accused by the authorities of a dissident rebel group.

The devices fell explosives on the members of the Military Fleet and the Colombian Army, which brought the checkpoint on the Nai River.

The attack affected four more security forces.

Daily attacks have become increasingly common in Colombia in recent years: 115 such attacks were recorded in the country in 2024, most of which were carried out by illegal armed groups.

In January, the government stated that it creates a plan to prevent such attacks by pulling its anti-dano technology to better detect and “neutralize” the drones.

The last death attack occurred near Buenoventura, a city on the Pacific coast, which is a focal hearth for drug trading.

Army representatives gave the names of three victims like Wilmar Rivas, Andres Estada and Dario Vystada.

Military officials said one of the groups under the command of a man known as Ivan Mordisk stood behind the drone attack on Tuesday.

In April 2024, Mordisk withdrew from peace talks with the government, and the fraction of insurgent dissidents, which he participates in criminal activity, such as extorting farmers and landowners, illegal mining and trade in cocaine.
