Dozens of people in the Sudanese state of North Darfur are afraid of the dead after heavy shelling at the displaced people.
Fast Support forces (RSF) attacked the crowded market in Abu Shoka, camps on the outskirts of El-Fasher, about two o’clock in the evening on Tuesday, a local official in the BBC said.
More than half a million displaced people live in the camp, and the attack on its market is the second in three days.
El Fasher-Aposhni Large city in Darfur under the army control and has been under the siege of RSF for almost a year.
On Tuesday, the attack on Abu Shuk took place at the most busy day. The camp population is mostly Muslims who watch the Holy Moon Ramadan, and many went out on the market, preparing to overcome them for the day.
The shelling caused several injuries, starting from the lungs to the severe, said Dr. Ibrahim Nadyan, a doctor at El Fasher, BBC’s last functional hospital.
Abu Shuk was also fired at the RSF on Sunday as a result of the attack, which killed six civilians, local health volunteers said.
RSF did not comment on Sunday or Tuesday.
Ever since he broke out in April 2023, the war killed tens of thousands of people, made millions of their homes and left a lot of hunger.
Both the RSF and the army are accused of atrocities, and the RSF is accused of committing genocide in Darfur against the Neo -Group of the region.
The conflict has shared the country, and the army controls the North and East, while RSF occupies most of the Darfur region in the west and parts of the south.
In recent weeks, the army overcame parts of Khartum and the surrounding areas from the RSF.
