Lemon wave claims to have been sexually harassed during his time at CNN.
The first Don Lemon tonight Host detailed two alleged events of his time in the network in an interview on Sunday’s episode, March 16, of the Podcast “Random Club with Bill Maher”. Lemon worked to CNN from 2006 until Was fired in 2023.
“I have been disturbed by women and men in the (workplace). It’s absurd,” Lemon, 59, told Maher early in their conversation. “There are some things that are really egregious, but not everything Harvey Weinstein level. “
Lemon, who is gay, continued, “I remember when I was in Atlanta and I was in the cafeteria (in CNN).… This young woman tweeted my dipples and said, ‘Oh, it’s cold here.’ I said, ‘Okay, you realize that if I did that they would be in me out of the door right now?’ “
The television journalist said he “didn’t care to go to ad, I didn’t say anything, because it’s a double standard.”
On another occasion, Lemon claimed that a female coworker had been offered when she spent the evening at her house following a work function. He said he had been offered to stay in a spare room following the incident, noting that, at the time, car services were not readily available as Uber.
“I never told this story.“ First of all, I was so new there.
“I ever went to management. First of all, I thought, ‘Okay, they might find a way to get rid of me because if I told this story, I don’t know if they are going to believe me or not,’ he continued. “But then it was so modest for me after that, I was like, ‘I should have told the story.’”
Weekly US reached out to CNN for comment.
Lemon also said he had molested as a child, and felt prepared to deal with unwanted comment as an adult.
“I know how to say (no),” he said. “You know how to deal with it and you know what is important or not.
In April 2023, Lemon was fired by CNN after 17 years at the News Network Cable. “Don forever will be part of the CNN family, and we thank him for his contributions over the past 17 years,” then CNN CEO Chris Licht Staff say in a memo at the time. “We wish him well and will cheer him in his future efforts.”
