Dolly Parton was honored on ‘OPRY 100’ tribute after the death of husband Carl

Nashville came out in full force to honor Dolly Parton in the OPRY 100 celebration.

NBC broadcast the Live Special on Wednesday, March 19. It included a lively performance of the Taro Parton “I Will Always Love You” by Reba Mcentire. Carrie UnderwoodLady and about 50 members of the OPRY Choir.

Earlier this month, Parton’s a man of nearly 60 years. Carl DeanHe died at the age of 82.

“Everyone here in the OPRY and around the world wants to send you our thoughts and prayers,” said Mcentire, 69, from the stage. “And you know, we’ll always love you.”

In addition to the starry group tribute, Carly Pearce Performing “Jolene” a homage to Parton, saying to the crowd, “Dolly Parton is my hero, and it means so much to me that she invites me to join the OPRY. Dolly, I want you to know that my heart goes out to you and your family, and my great honor is my favorite Dolly song tonight.”

Meanwhile, Parton appeared in a taped message.

“Well hello, I’m Dolly Parton and I’m a proud member of the Grand Ole Opry,” he said. “And I’m so sorry I can’t be there with everyone in person, but of course you know my heart is with you and my spirit is with you.”

Weekly US catch up With Pearce, 34, before the incident, where she remembers only the day that Parton invited her to become an OPRY member.

“It was probably the most surprise I’ve ever been in my life,” said the country singer Us. “When you think of the OPRY and you think of invitations to be a member, they usually happen on stage at the OPRY.”

On June 17, 2021, Pearce thought she was engaged in an advertisement for Dollywood after worked before in the theme park. When Parton walked around the corner and introduced himself, everything changed to Pearce.

“I was surprised, of course, but I thought we were doing this Dollywood ad together,” he said. “And I heard her say the word ‘OPRY’ several times in 30 seconds. I can only match it with how a girl feels when she thinks she’s engagement – from just like, ‘Can you just say it? Is this what’s happening?’”

“I had this moment of righteous, ‘Oh, my goodness,’” Pearce continued. “And when she said, I literally fell to the ground.”
