Dolly Parton Not working on new music as she mourns her husband’s death, Carl Dean.
The legendary singer, 79, addressed his break from writing songs on the episode of Wednesday, July 9, from Khloé Kardashian‘S. Khloé in a wonderful land podcast.
When Khloé, 41, asked whether Parton is experiencing a writer’s block, Parton mentioned that since losing Dean earlier this year, “(There are) how many things I’ve wanted to start, but I can’t do it.”
He added, “I’ll be later. I offer such lovely ideas, but I think I won’t finish it. I can’t do it right now, because I got so many other things. “
He explained: “I can’t afford luxury, you know, get that emotional right now. There are times like that, things like that, which will be in your stand a little. But I’ll write something else nevertheless, if it comes.… I’m postponing it all.”
Dean died in March at the age of 82. Parton announced the news through Instagram, writing, “Carl and I spent many wonderful years together. Words cannot do justice to the love we shared for over 60 years. Thank you for your prayers and sympathy.”
Dean was laid to rest in a private ceremony. Weeks later Barton noted that Dean “he suffered a great deal”Before he died. (The cause of death is not publicly divided.)

“It’s a big adjustment just trying to change patterns and customs,” added Parton at the time. “I’ll do right, and I’m really involved in my work and that’s the best thing that could happen to me. I will always miss it, of course, and always love it. He was a great partner for me.”
She said she was “grateful” for all the love she has received from fans.
“I’ve had so many cards, letters, flowers from all over the world,” he revealed. “I had no idea that Carl Dean was so famous.”
