Dolly Parton offered warm words to her friend and fellow passtream Kelly Clarkson Following the death of the ex-husband of Clarkson, Brandon Blackstock.

Parton added that, while not yet to reach out personally to Clarkson, she will “catch up with her” once she has wrapped promotional duties around the release of her book “Star of the Show: My Life on Stage.”

The statement also noted that Blackstock “died peacefully and surrounded by a family.”

One day before the family’s announcement, Clarkson, who was married to Blackstock between 2013 and 2022 and shared River’s daughter, 11, and Remington’s son, 9, with him, supporters of the health of her ex-husband and delayed her Las Vegas residence.

“Unfortunately, I need to postpone the rest of the August studio session dates in Las Vegas,” Clarkson said in an Instagram statement on August 6.

His inheritance and laughter will be held throughout his family. Rest in cowboy peace. Happy paths to you until we meet again.”

Clarkson is again to speak publicly about her and her family’s loss.
