Mangion, a Pennsylvania graduate, is held accountable in the US District Court of Manhattan with federal crimes, including murder, persecution and charm related to Thompson’s murder outside the Hilton Hotel in Midtown on December 4.

Thompson whose company is the largest payer for health insurance assistance in the US, headed to the hotel for the meeting of his parents, Unitedhealth Group.

DOJ said on Tuesday’s statement that “Thompson’s murder was an act of political violence.”

“The actions of the Mangion provided considerable planning and intentional, and because the murder occurred in public with random people who may have caused a serious risk of death for additional individuals,” the statement said.

The 26 -year -old Mangion also faces state criminal charges in the Supreme Court of Manhattan, which is the trial.
