The famous Haunted Mansion Holiday inspired by by Tim Burton The Nightmare Before Christmas will return in August, as usual –not November, as was erroneously reported after the incorrect dates were published on the Disneyland website.
The mistake briefly sparked excitement among fans that the attraction’s Christmas movie overlay will arrive on Nov. 14, a later-than-usual date that’s much closer to the holiday in the center of Nightmare Before Christmas.
In a statement to io9, Disney Experience shared, “We look forward to welcoming Haunted Mansion Holiday back for Halloween Time on August 22nd. The incorrect dates posted on the website this morning have been updated.”
For those who have no idea what we are talking about, for most of two decades, the beloved classic scary attraction he was kidnapped by Jack Skellington as Sandy Claws, bringing the Christmas spirit to the start of the Halloween season. It never really makes sense why Nightmare Before Christmas it’s a Christmas movie; the Christmas appropriate Jack events take place right after Halloween and drives at Christmas-and why the Haunted Mansion is a ghost house.
That means fans who want to visit the Haunted Mansion in its regular form as part of their Disneyland Halloween festivities are out of luck. If you want to experience the Haunted Mansion during Halloween, you have to go to the Magic Kingdom variant of Walt Disney World in Florida instead.

In brighter Haunted Mansion news, Disneyland’s version of the ride has been speculated to include major upgrades after its lengthy renovation period last year, which included a reworking of the outdoor queue. The rumors have apparently been given credence with the first look at a recently revealed drink collection sipper that represents a new bride, so we think there is a new incarnation for the tradition to be seen when the ride – which has just wrapped its most recent Haunted. The holiday season Mansion – opens in a few weeks.
