“Karun Nair, it’s been unreal to see the form you’ve been in. Even Mayank Agarwal has been in really good form. But the beauty is that it’s coming at a stage when India’s ODI set-up is almost ready to work. There can’t be too many changes,” Karthik told Cricbuzz (via Indian Express).

Karthik acknowledged that Nair’s form makes him a strong contender for selection and worthy of consideration. However, he doubts that Nair will make the Champions Trophy squad. Still, if Nair maintains this level of performance, Karthik believes he has the potential to be a key player, praising his ability to handle pace and spin effectively.
“Yes, it is very tempting to bring a Karun Nair into the set-up, and I think he has earned the right to be part of the talks. But I don’t think he will make the Champions Trophy squad. But if it continues, why not? An in-form batsman like that who bowls fast and spins well, he’s a weapons player and I’m really happy for him.” he added.
