Sean “Diddy” Combs rise to fame, first in the hip-hop community and then as a globally recognized music mogul, has been highlighted in a new documentary.
Born and raised in New York, Diddy’s colorful past is brought to life through stories told by childhood friend, former collaborator and singer Al B. Suram, who has a son with Diddy’s late ex-girlfriend, Kim Porter.
Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy was released months after the late rapper was accused of racketeering conspiracy; human trafficking for sexual purposes by force, deception or coercion; and transportation to engage in prostitution in a federal indictment unsealed Sept. 17.
In a statement to Fox News Digital about the documentary, a representative for Diddy said, “This documentary recycles and perpetuates the same lies and conspiracy theories that have been leveled against Mr. Combs for months. It’s a real shame to see NBC and Paulino go on the network. the same filth as unethical tabloid reporters, providing a platform for proven liars and opportunists to make false criminal allegations, irresponsible journalism of the worst kind.”

Here’s a round-up of the best explosions of the Peacock special.
Porter, a former model who dated Diddy for 13 years, has three children with the “Last Night” singer — twins Jessie James and D’Lillo and sons Christian and Justin. She shared her third son, Quincy, with her ex-singer Al B. Sur. Diddy later adopted Quincy.
El B. Sure, whose legal name is Albert Joseph Brown III, broke his silence and admitted that Porter once warned him that he would be “killed” if he started fixing Diddy’s life.

“You have to keep in mind that people have been fed this propaganda against me for years. “Oh Puffy did it and adopted your baby.” … In case you haven’t noticed, his name is still Brown,” the singer says. “People thought I was absent and stuff like that. I was basically instructed… (Combs) wasn’t very happy with who Kimberly was dealing with.

“Kimberly said, ‘Don’t get involved. You will be killed.” Even as far back as I can remember,” Sure said before pausing. He then told producers that ongoing legal matters prevented him from discussing the situation further.
Porter died in November 2018 pneumonia. She was 47.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner ruled her death natural.

El B. Sure called her death “her murder,” before wondering aloud, “Should I say ‘allegedly.'” He claimed to have seen the former model before her death and remembered her looking in good health. Hearing that she died of pneumonia, he thought, “No, there’s something wrong with this.”
Porter allegedly promised Suri not to talk about their lives “because she was completely scared for my life,” he said.
“Before she died, she kept a diary and things like that,” he claimed. “Someone got access to her phone and computer and they found out she was writing what was going on behind closed doors.”
In 1991, Diddy headlined a charity basketball game in City College of New York which proved fatal. More than 5,000 people tried to enter the gymnasium to witness the benefit between Diddy and Heavy D, but the gym could only hold 2,730 people.
Fans desperate to see the game — and other big names, including Mike Tyson and LL Cool J — tried to break down the double doors that opened inward rather than outward, and a massive crowd rushed to the entrance.

No criminal charges have been filed, but Didi, 22, has faced a number of civil lawsuits filed by the victims’ families. One of the victims, Sonny Williams, was given a ticket by Combs to an event that day.
Her brother, Sonny Williams Jr., recalled meeting Diddy six years after his late sister’s trial. Williams was brought into Didi’s office and offered $50,000.
“I remember looking around the office and seeing all these plaques on the wall,” Williams said. “I said, ‘Bro, you have all this going on and you offered me $50,000.’ He said, “Sonny, listen man, that’s a really generous donation.” And I lost it.
“I said, ‘Sonia is your goddamn friend?’ You offered me $50,000 and gave Sonia a ticket to that event.” It was a slap in the face.”
Diddy’s childhood friend, Tim Patterson, recalled growing up in Harlem, New York, with the aspiring musician. He claimed that Janice Combs, Diddy’s mother, hosted parties where it “wouldn’t be a mistake to walk into one of the bedrooms” and see the couple “naked”.
“It’s what we’ve been trained to do. It’s what we’ve been fed,” Patterson said. “Was it desensitizing us? I’m sure it is. Did we know about it? No, it was only Saturday night.’
Diddy’s father, Melvin Early Combs, was killed in an ambush when Diddy was 3 years old. Melvin Combs, a drug dealer, was allegedly caught selling drugs to an undercover officer and later killed for talking to the police.

After his father’s death, Didi and his mother were left with money that allowed them to live a lifestyle different from their peers, and he was often bullied by his peers for being the rich kid in class. Patterson and his mother moved into the Combs house at Janice’s request.
Patterson noted that he protected Diddy from bullies, and the pair regularly attended parties at his childhood home, where they were exposed to alcohol and marijuana at a young age.
“He’s been around all kinds of alcohol. He’s been around refrigerator smoke,” Patterson said. “He was surrounded by drug addicts, lesbians, homosexuals. He was surrounded by pimps and pimps. That’s who was in our house.”
Diddy’s former bodyguard, Gene Deal, claimed that Diddy “could” have been involved in the 1997 drive-by shooting. The Notorious BIG
