The young feeling of struggle in South -Africa, Dewald Brevis, has once again proved what the legendary batter with Villiers admires. Dewald Brevis is often compared to Villiers with his fearsome stroke game, and also comes from the same country, South -Africa.
Even the 22-year-old right won the nickname ‘baby ab’ due to its battle style and shooting capacity almost similar to the Captain of South Africa. Brevis recently revealed his dream struggle partner, and is none other than Villiers himself.
When Villiers asked about his dream partner on his YouTube channel, Dewald Brevis immediately replied: “Without a doubt you are.” The answer left the icon of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in divisions, as ABD himself responded with enthusiasm: “Oh, imagine it. It would have been fun.”

Brevis later suggested that they should play a game together someday. He said, “We should play the same game at some point, maybe.” From which De Villiers suggested in a manner waiting to wait for the young legends championship (WCL).
De Villiers joked, “I think yes. Maybe I will play for 10 or 20 more years. I will wait for you there in the WCL. Come and join the old man.” And brevus, with a big smile, said he would like to beat his idol on the WCL. He said, “I would love to do it.”

Dewald Brevis, meanwhile, insisted that constant comparisons with AB de Villiers do not affect him. The Proteas star also shared how he obtained the nickname “Baby AB”.
Brevis told De Villiers: “A friend of mine occupied a tip that said” Baby ab “when I scored 50 against India. It has never been a load or pressure for me; sooner I have been special. I have always been idolized to AB of Villiers, I have learned a lot from him and consider the comparison a huge privilege.”
Dewald Brevis, meanwhile, has transformed from a sensation of adolescence to one of the most exciting names in the world’s cricket. Brevis made the headlines for the first time in the U19 2022 World Cup, and fired 506 runs into six games at an average of 84.33, with two centuries and three fifty.

That fearsome shake earned him the nickname “Baby AB” and an IPL contract shortly after. However, the way to the international cricket was not easy for him. Brevis took time to adjust -but his return to the south side -African in 2025 marked a turning point.
Since then, it has been red, scoring 318 in 10 T20is at a strike rate of almost 192, including a brilliant century in Australia. He also made his debut in the solid test, marking half a century in his first entrances. The brevus IPL with Chennai Super Kings in 2025 showed its class.
The star of Proteas scored 225 runs in six games at a strike of 180. It has accumulated 995 throws in 30 tickets to an average of 43.26 and a strike rate of 186.32, with six fifty years at T20 this year.
