The Cricket Control Council in India (BCCI) is involved in intense debates about the appointment of the new president and possibly a new secretary.
Devajit Saikia is currently running as Secretary of the BCCI, while the President’s headquarters have been vacant since Roger Binny turned 70.

Roger Binny, a winner of the 1983 World Cup, was appointed President of the BCCI in October 2022. He turned 70 in July 19, 2025 and any office carrier that has this age brand is disqualified from the position, according to the Constitution approved by the Supreme Court.

Since then, BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla has been filling Binny and, according to a Toi report, there is a great chance that he is elected as the new BCCI president for his experience as Cricket Administrator.
“Rajeev Shukla is a very good opportunity to be elected as President of the BCCI in the election that took place later this month,” a source told Toi.
