Dominican Republic: Searching those who survived

Hundreds of rescue workers in the Dominican Republic searched at night for surviving roofs in the nightclub in the Santa Daming.

At least 113 people were killed and more than 150 were injured in the incident, only up to 1:00 local time (05:00 GMT) at the Jet Set club, officials said.

Hundreds of guests were in a popular place where the Merengue Rubby Pérez singer attended.

Perez, as well as the former major league baseball, Actavio Dotel and Governor of the province, are one of those who have been confirmed by the dead.

The footage of the mobile phone recorded at the BBC Club shows Perez on the singing stage, and men can hear how they talk.

“Something fell out of the ceiling”, which records a person, says his finger can be seen by pointing to the roof.

In the Perez personnel, you can see how a person pointed to the territory.

In less than 30 seconds, you can hear the noise, and the recording becomes black while the woman hears the shouting, “Dad, what happened to you?”

Relatives were looking forward to the news about their loved ones

It is unclear how many people were in a popular place, but the estimates range from 500 to 1000 people.

Emergency workers demolished one of the club walls to get better to those who are still buried under the rubble.

Relatives, who are desperate to news about their missing loved ones, kept a vigil at the scene.

Among them was the daughter of Perez Zulinka, who is a singer in her band Merengue.

She told how she was on stage, singing with her father when the tragedy unfolded.

Zulinka said she was saved by her husband, who closed her body when the roof collapsed, telling her that she needed to do it “to be there for our son.”

She managed to be released from the rubble, and her husband also remained alive.

However, her 69-year-old father was trapped for hours.

According to Zulinka, he survived the collapse and managed to send emergency staff to his location.

“They found that he sang, he began to sing to hear him,” she said in the local media.

But at about 5:00 pm local time, more than 16 hours after the tragedy took place, Zulinka was informed by the rescuers at the scene that her father had died before they could release him.

Later, his leader confirmed his death.
