Throughout the c Denzel Washington brilliant career, the legendary actor continued to make a big impact on Hollywood.
After all, the 69-year-old actor received his 11th Golden Globe in a nomination for his work in the film Gladiator II, he set a new record, becoming the black actor with the most nominations in the history of the award. He previously tied the record with legendary actor Sidney Poitier.
Washington was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Macrin in the action film.

Washington hinted at his retirement from Hollywood after completing several film projects.
The Oscar-winning actor announced in Australia in November “Today” show. that he is nearing the end of his Hollywood career.
“For me, it’s about the director, especially at this point in my career,” Washington said.
“I am interested in working only with the best. I don’t know how many more films I’m going to make—probably not that many. I want to do something I haven’t done.”
He went on to discuss his upcoming roles, including Shakespeare’s Othello on Broadway. Washington first played the character when he was 22 and plans to play Othello for the third time in the film adaptation.

Washington has additionally booked several other projects, including the role of Carthaginian general Hannibal in an upcoming Netflix project, a collaboration with director Steve McQueen on a film, and a role in the third Black Panther film.
The actor announced that he is also going to play King Lear in another film.
“After that, I’m going to retire,” Washington said.
While Washington sent his ardent fans into a tailspin with his retirement rumors, he clarified his comments days after the “Today” interview.
“I didn’t say I was going to retire,” he said said BuzzFeed. “I said it has to be a certain level of interest for me. I’m more interested in sitting behind the camera, so it’s about five years.”
“It’s very difficult. And I may have used the word “retirement,” but I look at life in three parts: you learn, you earn, you return. I’m coming back to life.”

Last year in Washington, there was a violent altercation with fans who tried to take his picture and ask for his autograph outside the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
In October “Training Day” actor. attended a film benefit in honor of Samuel L. Jackson.
While Washington arrived in good spirits and stopped to take a few photos for and with fans, his evening took an awkward turn when he lashed out.
Upon entering, Washington quickly turned around and approached a group of autograph-seeking fans.
In a video obtained by Fox News Digital, Washington can be heard saying, “Put it down. I heard you. You talk about showing love… respect me.’

“We always do,” one fan replied.
“I said, ‘I’ll see you when I get out.’ What part of this don’t you understand?” Washington said.
“Or not, or not! We can do it another way. I can have it both ways,” he added before walking inside.

Washington was baptized by Bishop James Pullings Jr. at the Kelly Temple in New York.
“It’s been a while, but I’m finally here … If (God) can do this for me, there’s nothing He can do for you,” Washington said, according to a video circulating online. “Literally, the sky is the limit.”

“Now I am free. They don’t talk about it in this town. They don’t talk about it… It’s not fashionable. It’s not sexual. But that doesn’t mean people in Hollywood don’t believe. Hollywood doesn’t exist anyway. What does that even mean? It means to me a street called Hollywood Boulevard,” he wrote.
Washington got his breakthrough role in the medical drama “St. Elsewhere” in 1982. He received several nominations for his work on the show and was eventually able to break into movies.
Washington is known for films such as “Fences”, “The Book of Eli”, “Freedom Cry” and “Malcom X”.

Washington also had a memorable moment with King Charles III during the premiere of Gladiator II.
In November King Charles greeted the cast of Gladiator II at the ODEON Luxe Leicester Square in London.
During the meeting, members of the cast, including Washington, Pedro Pascal and Paul Mescal, as well as director Sir Ridley Scott, met King Charles one by one. However, Washington appeared nervous at the meeting with the royal monarch.
“I didn’t know if I should take your hand or not,” Washington smiled as he shook Charles’s hand.

“I’m just awful … I’m a great person, you’ll see,” Washington said, stumbling over his words. “I’m a wonderful guy.”
King Charles continued the exchange and told Washington, “You’ve been in so many movies, it’s fantastic.”
Washington graciously replied, “Thank you, thank you.”
