The Tottenham Ombudsman, Cristian Romero, has signed a new agreement to stay in the club until the summer of 2029.
The 27 -year -old Argentina was linked to a transfer to Atlético Madrid earlier this summer, but was appointed the new club captain last week.
The new Cap Thomas Frank said Lastest’s week that Romero was a key player.
“I see a very big and very good player. What I like about him and why I chose him as captain are his leadership qualities on the pitch,” said Frank.
“There is great respect for him of the players. In addition, he also sets the standards.
“The staff told me that they have never seen him train so well. He is in a very good place. I see a player who wants to run the team and push the team.”
Romero, Romero, first joined Spurs in 2021 on loan to Atalanta before the transfer was permanent a year later.
Djed Spence, with the full back, has also signed a new agreement on Spurs.
