A24 and Filmmaker Alex Scharfman are ready to shine a new light on the lovre loving unicorn of the genre of gender genre. Alex Scharflman: That’s what Jena said too. Jenna was not in Unicorns. I mean, I was not in unicorns until I started the pursuit of the movie. But if I, I think that people make a layer of depth that we don’t know it was here for a while.
IO9: I get it right now. They can be metal as hell. Let’s start at the beginning. Who is the backstory on you taking this project specifically? Because it’s a wild ride.
Scharfman: The idea is just arrived at me; The edge of the exploded scene of exploded in my head somewhere and you really don’t know where you came. But sometimes sort of things happen, where you imagine a scene and yes “, where are you going?” This much of course started pulling the thread of how, “where you wear?” and “And if someone makes a unicorn with his car?” “What is a unicorn?” As, what do we bring about it as a people?
Io9: When did you imagine this happening to a daughter and father, you thought, “Ah, yeah, paul rudd would be that father”?
Scharfman: At the time, not first before actors or characters – it was a scenario. And I didn’t know what went wrong or where I was; (it was) just something that has moved in my mind. Took me a couple of years to start exploration.
io9: definitely. And also the vibe of a race of a history Kurt Vonnegut that makes fantastic elements to tell a real satire satisfoy county.

Io9: You really thought about this while you are writing this, or happened?
Scharfman: That was a bit of happing to be honest. I have read and have anthology of full vonguts. I have read every short story that’s ever written. Io9: What did the players have to act against you for all those suspense scenes?
Scharfman: It was a combination of the things we had. Sometimes we lived the horses on the set, we have puppies in set. We’ve really had great cubs. I love puppets; Were a lot of fun. And whenever possible we use the dolls. It was really important in the whole process to have time possible in squares, not only for the actors, but only to me as compone, who wanted to see those as you can.
Looking for is certainly VFX, but also when we had Vfx, we had our doll heads that were more than a Lighting Hiding Vfx. We also have the puppies because of the shots so that the actors know where the serious creature, and knew what the creature spoke in every position, and how it moved. There is a real tactility; There are some strokes that are the puppies, obviously, in the movie. It’s still exciting when you can understand that out is part of the film process puzzle for a movie as this.
