David Warner takes a stunning catch in BBL 2024-25 to stun the cricket world

Former opening of Australia David Warner rolled back the years and took a stunning catch during the 2024-25 Big Bash League match between Sydney Thunder and Perth Scorchers played at the Sydney Showground Stadium.

Sydney Thunder’s Chris Green he joined David Warner for the celebrations and lifted him up before the rest of the team joined the party. Warner timed his jump perfectly and really rolled back the years.

With this wicket Perth Scorchers’ aim of a comeback came to a screeching halt as Ashton Agar was dismissed for just 7. The Scorchers were reduced to 76-7 as Mohammad Hasnain took his first wicket of the day .

Earlier in the day, Perth Scorchers won the toss and elected to field first. Skipper David Warner was dismissed early for just 8 by fast bowler Lance Morris. The quick struck again to take the wicket of Matthew Gilkes.

Sam Billings was the next wicket to fall and began a collapse for Sydney Thunder. They were reduced to 75-5 and it looked like their innings would be over soon. Sam Konstas was dismissed for an impressive 53 off 42 balls as Thunder lost a big wicket.

But Chris Green and Tom Andrews had other ideas as they collected some quick runs at the end. The duo put together an unbeaten partnership of 44 runs from the last three overs to take Thunder to 158-7. In the final, 25 runs were scored including 2 sixes and 2 fours.

Perth Scorchers collapse in Sydney

In reply, the Perth Scorchers had a poor start to their innings and lost two early wickets in the form of Finn Allen and Sam Fanning. A brief association between Aaron Hardie and Cooper Connolly followed, but Hardie was dismissed and a collapse began for the Scorchers.

The Scorchers’ innings never got back on track and were bowled out for just 97 in 17.2 overs. Hardie top scored for Scorchers with 22 off 17 balls. Chris Green was the pick of the Thunder players with 3-13 from four overs, while Nathan McAndrew finished with 2-21.

Tom Andrews was named Player of the Match for his performances throughout. Andrews scored 37 off 13 balls with the bat and picked up 1-20 in four overs with the ball.
