Decalb County Police Department identified an officer killed on Friday, responding to a militant near the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Atlanta, Georgia.
The 33-year-old officer David Rose was shot dead and killed by responding to a CDC campus, which pushed an asylum for a neighboring Emora university. The suspected militant who has not yet been identified was also killed.
Rose was sent to the University Hospital of Emora to Cliffan -Rowd, where he died of injuries.
He started working in the police department last September, the agency said and survived his pregnant wife and two children.

“He was obliged to serve the society,” the police chief Greg subrick said in a statement. “At this time, we ask for a community prayer for his family, friends, his relatives and the whole family of the Decalb County Police Department.”
The incident unfolded shortly before 5 pm when the man opened the fire before CDC campus, reports Atlanta police chief Darin Shirbaum. When the officers responded to the place, they found that Rose was critical and heard an additional gun that goes from the next pharmacy CVS.
Officers entered the pharmacy and placed a shooter on the second floor, at least one gunshot wound. Shiybaum said it was unclear whether the police shoot was coming early or it was on herself.
“I want to thank men and women of law enforcement agencies from all this region,” Shirabum said. “When this community needed them, no one leaned from danger. Each officer, from several areas, answered and immediately moved to the end of this threat.”

CDC director Susan Monorez said the agency was “broken” in the deadly events on Friday.
“A courageous local law enforcement officer gave his life, and another was injured after the militant opened fire at least four CDC buildings,” she said in a statement. “The Decalb County police, CDC security and the University of Emors reacted immediately and resolutely, helping to prevent further damage to our staff and society.”

Federal and state officials said they were grateful for the rapid reaction of law enforcement. Among those who share the statements about the tragic incident was US Senator Rafael Warnok, D-GA.
“I mourn the tragic death of the officer who was killed today in his official duty, and I pray for the family and friends of the officer. Atlanta’s law enforcement agencies saved countless lives, and we are grateful for their service,” Warnok said.
