David Duchovny Preparing to sell her dreamy mansion on the shore of the beach in Malibu.
Weekly US Can confirm that Duchovny, 64, will soon list his long -lasting Malibu Malibu residence, which is located in the Gated Point Dume community, for $ 12.5 million. The property is about 1 large acre and over 3,500 square feet, with the main house consisting of three bedrooms. It also includes a refurbished one bedroom train caboose at the edge of the estate.
Malibu’s home was the main residence of Duchovny for more than 20 years.
“Malibu has always been a magical place for me,” the X-Files Seren explained. “I’ve been naturally drawn to it, and Point Dume, in particular, stands out as a real geographical wonder – a place unlike anywhere else. Although it’s only 30 minutes from town, it feels like a completely different world. That wonder sense made my first hold, and my appreciation for it has grown over time alone.”
By property description, the scattered mansion offers an open concept living space with “seamless open-air living, unrivaled craftsmanship, and the key access of Riviera beach 1,” and also includes a gravel motor courtyard with enough parking. The house is decorated with a bespoke built -in AS and a hidden closet for “style and function” throughout the home, including a chef kitchen, which includes “stone countertops, bespoke cabinetry and premium miele equipment.”
“My favorite place at home has always been the great room,” Duchovny said about the home. “In New York, everything feels more closed, so I really appreciated the open concept design and the natural light here. We spend 70 to 80 percent of our time in the great room-with the kitchen flowing into space, it’s where everyone can be together.”
Zumirez Drive properties also include first -class smart home systems, including Sonos Audio, Intercom, security and lighting cameras, which are all centrally managed. In the meantime, the lower level offers a wide laundry area. The primary series is a “private sanctuary” with sliding glass doors to the backyard, built -in shelves and a specifically designed walk -in closet. The bathroom comes with an independent soaking tub, double vanity, water cupboard and steam shower.
“Beyond its stylish location, this home is truly special because every detail – from the inside and the materials to the wide open -lived colors and places – is thoughtfully curated with an exceptional flavor,” said Compass Real Estate Agent Chris Cortazzo. “With pivoting doors that create a seamless open-air flow, it conveys the spirit of Malibu lifestyle.”
The home seems perfect for entertaining too. In the backyard, smooth concrete surfaces maintain an indoor lounge with built -in heaters, a lap pit (with built -in jacuzzi and cold plumbing), a sunken fire pit with built -in seating, an outdoor kitchen and a bespoke dining space for guests. A separate structure acts as a gym, office, or hotel room, which includes full mirrors, indoor deck with built-in heaters, en-suite bath and comprehensive security system.
But another structure, the “carefully restored” train caboose, sits at the far end of the estate. This is not only where Duchovny wrote his novel, Truly as lightning, and records her “better failure” podcast, but is also home to a charming living and sleeping place with a built -in dining hole, television and kitchen. It also includes bathroom and roof deck.
According to Cortazzo, “many people turn to Malibu” as a place to set root and are “drawn by the lifestyle” in the area. He also noted, “We see great demand from displaced residents looking for homes.”
“I think insurance payments are starting to come through, and instead of waiting to rebuild, many people turn to Malibu, drawn by the lifestyle we offer,” he explained. “We have world-class public schools and an unrivaled quality of life-Malibu really offers one of the best lifestyles you can find in Los Angeles.”
