Dave Portnoy claims a loss of $ 20 million in 3 days due to tariffs

Dave Portnoy guess he lost “probably close to $ 20 million” because of the new US tariffs put in place by President Donald Trump.

“I went Super Viral when I said I lost $ 7 million,” Portnoy, 48, said during the episode on Monday, April 7, its live stream “Trader Day Day”. “We will kill to be back to lose $ 7 million.”

Portnoy estimated that “in the last three days” its net value down 10 or 15 percent. (The founder of Barstool Sports has previously estimated that its net value is approximately $ 150 million.)

“But I’m still here. That’s the game,” continued Portnoy. “Do I like it? No.”

Portnoy said there was “no political agenda” in talking about money on Monday’s live stream.

“This is a decision made by one man accidentally the whole stock market,” he added from the tariffs implemented by the President. “That’s why we call him Orange Monday.”

Dave Portnoy still has a close relationship with his ex-wife, Renee Portnoy. “We met when Barstool was nothing, so he rode the grinding with us,” said Dave, 47, on a recent episode of “The Sage Steele Show” podcast. “Yet, right now, she basically has access to all my money. If she wanted to be (…)

Portnoy first announced that it was losing money during the April 4 episode of the same live stream.

“I’m down $ 7 million of bucks in stocks and crypto, and it’s a City tariff,” he said, in part, admitting that he has been “trying to understand” the decision behind the recent tariffs.

“As, it’s more of a trade deficit tariff,” he said. “For me, like, ‘Hey, we get as much S *** from you, and you get this much. Let’s even that. Let’s have a wacky formula, make tariffs. And everything is *** though.”

The stock market has been in turmoil since the tariffs were announced – on Tuesday, as the deadline for another tariff approached, Dow Jones’ industrial average decreased 225 points, while the S&P fell 500 1.2 percent and the NASDAQ fell 1.8 percent.

Since the establishment of Barstool Sports in 2003, Portnoy has not been quiet about discussing money in public – especially in terms of how much it does.
