Crystal Palace has launched an official appeal with the Sport Arbitration Court (CAS) after being abandoned from the Europa League in the conference league due to a breach of the UEFA Multi-CLUB ownership regulations.
The call goes to the UEFA, who issued the sanction, as well as on the French side Lyon and the Premier League Rivals Forest Nottingham.
The number focuses on the North -American Businessman John Textor, who has a participation in the Palau and is also the majority owner of Lyon, a club that has also qualified for the Europa League next season.
According to the UEFA rules, clubs with shared property, where a part is considered to have a decisive influence, is forbidden to compete in the same European competition.
As it is, Nottingham Forest, who finished seventh in the Premier League last season, is on the line of taking the Palalace Europa League site in case the decision is maintained.
The palace, however, is pressing for the punishment to be annulled and asked to annul UEFA’s sentence. They also seek reinstatement in Europe League instead of forest or Lyon.

The UEFA Club’s financial control body issued the original sanction after rule that the palace did not restructure property over time.
The deadline for providing compliance with UEFA ownership rules was March 1, 2025, which the South London Club did not fulfill. Although Palace argued that Textor does not maintain a “decisive influence” on his operations, UEFA rejected this statement.
In the comments made to the rest is the football podcast last week, Crystal Palace President Steve Parish expressed his confidence in the Call: “We do not believe that this is the right decision in any way.
“We know, unequivocally, that John (textor) had no decisive influence on the club,” he said. “We know we have shown it out of all reasonable doubts because it is a fact.”
On August 11, a Cas verdict is expected, with the Europa League group stage, which will begin on September 24.
