Crestfallen Schweinsteiger leaves Germany as Wirtz and Woltemade Flop against Slovakia

Former German Captain Bastian Schweinsteiger says that the four-time World Cup winners have “lost their DNA” after the 2-0 defeat in Slovakia last night.

Germany hopes of good progression in the end of next summer in the United States, Canada and Mexico took a look with The goals of David Hanccko and David Strelec who handed a well -deserved three points to the house.

Schweinsteiger, who was in Bratislava and saw the heavy show of Germany firsthand: “ We lost our DNA. We used to play often enough frequently, but in the end we won normally. This was German football DNA, for which we admitted and feared. Unfortunately, it has been long ago. And unfortunately, the rest of the world has also realized it.

“I have to think when it was the last time I saw German fans whistle their own players and stirred them? This hurt me a lot.”

Premier League Newboys Wirtz and Woltemade among these to fight

Julian Nagelsmann’s men dominated possession, but they did little, despite Liverpool’s Florian Wirtz and Newcastle striker, Nick Woltemade, two players who cost £ 180 million in the recently closed transfer window.

“I’m sorry, but at no minute of the game I thought we would win,” added the former Bayern Munich and Manchester United Schweinsteiger former champion.

“We were really bad. We didn’t play good past, we did not create danger. The (positive) body language after the first goal had disappeared. If you want to win something, you must show resilience.

“Players must acknowledge that this was not good. With Slovakia, I felt much more passion. The national coach can speak all night; players have to understand -themselves.”

Where was the passion? Nagelsmann questions the attitude of players

The result means that there is already added pressure on Sunday’s game with Northern Ireland, who won group A after a 3-1 victory in Luxembourg last night.

Nagelsmann will wait more of his players and insist that his defeat against Slovakia had more to do with his attitude.

He said, “If we start with very simple things like Passion: the opponent was higher miles from the first to the last minute. The opponent brought more football with passion to the pitch.

“We are not in a position to come here and play 80 percent, this is not possible. If we do not carry the passion, we can close the book, the quality of football does not matter.”

Asked why his team was so bright, he added: “I have no explanation for it.

“Everyone should have come with the mentality that we want to play a good role in the World Cup. We are kilometers of everything today. I do not want to listen to the quality. It’s not enough for me if we don’t have the passion. Maybe we have to trust less quality, but on players who throw everything.”

Nagelsmann urges Germany to “contribute energy” Sunday

This does not mean that Nagelsmann will make home changes for the game in Cologne over the weekend.

“I don’t have 150 Germans to choose from,” he said. “I have confidence in the team. We must approach the game as a semifinal of the Champions League. Otherwise we will play the play-offs in March. I have confidence in the team, but everyone has to realize that it is not enough to play with the brake of hand.

“Players have talked to each other. I think they feel what is needed now. The whole group has to bring energy. If we appear more energetically than today, it will be a better game on Sunday.”
