Former German Captain Bastian Schweinsteiger says that the four-time World Cup winners have “lost their DNA” after the 2-0 defeat in Slovakia last night.

Nagelsmann will wait more of his players and insist that his defeat against Slovakia had more to do with his attitude.
He said, “If we start with very simple things like Passion: the opponent was higher miles from the first to the last minute. The opponent brought more football with passion to the pitch.
“We are not in a position to come here and play 80 percent, this is not possible. If we do not carry the passion, we can close the book, the quality of football does not matter.”
Asked why his team was so bright, he added: “I have no explanation for it.
“Everyone should have come with the mentality that we want to play a good role in the World Cup. We are kilometers of everything today. I do not want to listen to the quality. It’s not enough for me if we don’t have the passion. Maybe we have to trust less quality, but on players who throw everything.”
Nagelsmann urges Germany to “contribute energy” Sunday
This does not mean that Nagelsmann will make home changes for the game in Cologne over the weekend.
“I don’t have 150 Germans to choose from,” he said. “I have confidence in the team. We must approach the game as a semifinal of the Champions League. Otherwise we will play the play-offs in March. I have confidence in the team, but everyone has to realize that it is not enough to play with the brake of hand.
“Players have talked to each other. I think they feel what is needed now. The whole group has to bring energy. If we appear more energetically than today, it will be a better game on Sunday.”
