Crawford’s faded power and speed: too weak for 168 pounds

Terence Crawford still insists that he did a “great performance” in his last struggle, up to 154 against Israil Madrimov, and he feels that what he showed in victory showed that he is willing to challenge Canelo Alvarez in 168.

The Nebraska Native Crawford is receiving a free title against the Super indisputable Champion Canelo (63-2-2, 39 kos) on September 13 in the Adllibreta de Las Vegas. Crawford is allowed to advance two divisions from 154 to 168 for a direct title without fighting any of the contestants.

Movement, power did not travel up

Fans find that Crawford’s victory over WBA Junior Middleweight, Madrimov, was less convincing, and raised doubts about the ability to fight the £ 168. Terence’s power at 154 was non -existent and seemed to have aged five years of his previous fight against Errol Spence in 2023.

Madrimov showed that Crawford does not belong to the fight at 154 or to any higher class. Terence’s decision not to go with his goal of trying to be indisputable at the highlights of the Junior Middleweight, who acknowledged that he would not be able to achieve it. The champions, Bakhram Murtazaliev and Sebastian Fundora, would be too large, too strong and too young for Crawford.

The movement, the speed of the hand and the power that Crawford had in the lowest weights did not travel until 154. It will not be in 168 without finding the source of the Youth until September 13. Terence’s reputation was based mainly on his success in the fight at £ 135 and 140 pounds. Opposition Crawford fought in 147 were minor fighters and a couple of old faded champions. Many fans feel that it is overrated due to their limited summary, arid of elite names. It is difficult to argue with this when you look at your real victories.

Crawford dismisses the concerns of power

“I thought it was a great performance. I thought I did what I wanted to ring. I thought I picked it up when I wanted. I felt I struck when I wanted, and I fit too well. I don’t take anything,” said Terence Crawford to Australian sports news On his latest fight against Israil Madrimov last year in August.

Crawford was not a great performance. He won closely in Madrimov, winning a unanimous decision of 12 rounds by the scores 115-113, 116-112 and 115-113. The struggle showed that Crawford is not the same fighter in 154 who was in the lowest weights and, without a doubt, it will not be better until 168.

“The styles struggles. So, Canelo has a different style from the Madrimov Israil. We just go from there. No,” Crawford said when he asked if he noticed any difference in his capacity up to 154 with his power and shot.

Crawford has never taken an elite fighter during his 17 -year professional. Although Terence stopped Errol Spence and Shawn Porter, both faded versions of their previous ones, worn since the age, long careers, drainage of weight and inactivity. Crawford fought them at the right time.
