Corey Feldman blame Johnny Depp for losing out on a big role in What eats Gilbert’s grapes.
Feldman, 53, addressed her bitterness in the episode of Wednesday, March 26, of Billy Corgan‘s “The magnificent othersPodcast. The star of the classic 80s Stand love and The goon At Corgan, 58, he almost acted opposite Depp, 61, in 1993’s Gilbert’s grapes.
Feldman would have played the younger brother of Depp. But the part lost to Leonardo DiCapriowho won the best supporting Oscar nomination for his performance.
“I was actually cast to play Leonardo DiCaprio’s role,” Feldman revealed. “I never saw the film because I was still bitter. Bitter leaves in that one. But yes, I was originally cast for that role.”

“Did they push you out?” Corgan asked.
“Johnny Depp,” Feldman responded. “He was cast after me, and I probably whispered to the producers’ ear who didn’t like me, and thought – he said I was junk and he wasn’t working with junk. And this was the first time I’ve ever (told) this story, so I’m sure I’m going to be hung by this one.”
Weekly US reached out to Depp’s representative for comments.
Feldman said he did not use drugs at the time of his dismissal.
“I was sober. I had just become sober,” he said. “I had just come out of rehabilitation. I had turned my life around, and, in fact, I was trying to help River (Phoenix) At the time, which (Depp) was running with them at the time, as we all know. “
Feldman added, “As you can imagine, there was a bit of a thorn in the side on that one. And, unless I was pushed out and made that role, who knows what would have happened from that point on.”
Despite the career evaporation, and the what-if questions led, “You are not hanging on those, you pass by ’em,” he said.

Later, Feldman had tried Lord of the rings trilogy, competing with before Stip costume Sean astintin to play Samwise Gamgee. Astin, 54, won the part.
“I was actually for the role of Sean, and I heard that I came pretty close on that too,” he said. “Although I couldn’t have gained the weight, so I’ll give it that. He did a great aesthetic job with being able to add that weight. It’s something I can’t do physically.”
