Conor McGregor’s attempt to abandon a civil court ruling that was responsible for sexual assault has not been successful.
The ex -UFC champion, now 37, was responsible for the High Court of Ireland in relation to an incident that took place in 2018.
The complainant claimed that McGregor assaulted him in a hotel room, and the jury stood with it, giving damage of € 248,000. McGregor resorted to the decision earlier this year.
On Thursday, however, the high court dismissed its appeal entirely.
The McGregor’s legal team had submitted several arguments, including the testimony of a claimant’s neighbor who claimed to have witnessed an altercate separate before the alleged assault.
This line of defense was dropped earlier this month.
RTE, the National Ireland broadcaster, reported that the woman testified that he first found himself in McGregor at a Christmas party in Dublin in 2018.
He claimed that he pushed her into a bed, stifled her and feared her for her life. McGregor, who has four children with his long -term partner, acknowledged that sexual activity took place, but denied that he was violent or not agreed. No criminal accusation were filed in relation to the case.
McGregor (22-6) has been absent from the mixed martial arts competition since breaking his leg in a defeat of TKO to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021.
Earlier this month he revealed that he had undergone drug evidence as part of the UFC’s anti-doping program, a step towards a potential return.
He also suggested that he wants to fight at a UFC event proposed at the White House in 2026.
