Columbia Senator and Nadezhda Miguel Urbe died two months after he was shot dead in a targeted attack that shocked the South American nation.
39 -year -olds suffered three bullets – two of them in the head and one in the leg – at the campaign on June 7 in the capital of Bogot.
His wife confirmed his death on social media, paying tribute to the “love of my life.”
The teenager was arrested on suspicion of firing, but the motive of the attack is still unclear.
Urbe’s wife, Maria Claudia Tarazon, thanked her late for “life full of love” and for being “the best father” for her children.
According to a statement published on Saturday at the hospital where Urbe was treated, the senator survived the bleeding in his central nervous system and had to undergo surgery.
He already had several operations since he was first taken to the Santa -f clinic in June.
His wife asked people to pray for his recovery, and thousands were in vigils and actions to show their support.
Uriebe, who had been a senator since 2022, was looking for his party nomination in the 2026 presidential election.
When he was shot, he attended a political event in the mid -class residential district.
The suspect the teenager was arrested when he fled on stage. The 15-year-old boy was charged with assassination and found himself guilty.
Several others were detained on suspicion of assistance to the militant.
The brazen attack on the senator returned the memories of the violent decades of the 1980s and 90s in Colombia, when several presidential candidates and influential Colombian figures were killed.
