Wanted Kohli met with his former AB teammates of Villiers and Chris Gayle after Royal Challenges Bengaluru defeated the kings of Punjab in the final IPL 2025 on Tuesday (June 3).
Bengaluru’s dress won Punjab Kings for 6 runs to get his title in 18 years. First, he requested that RCB started. While Phil Salt struck a flight of boundaries, it did not last long and was out of 16 runs on the second.

In response, Punjab Kings scored 184/7. Shashank Singh made a lonely battle and scored 61 unbeaten of 30 balls, but his efforts were not enough to bring his team to the line.
Kohli shot meets with the former teammates:
Before winning the last IPL, RCB had played three finals, but ended up losing -all of them. As Kohli was playing the three finals, AB Villiers and Chris Gayle played in two of them. RCB had one of the most explosive battle alignments in the league when Kohli, Gayle and Villiers played together, but they couldn’t go all the way.
After losing the final three times, RCB finally won the title decay in the fourth attempt. Wanted Kohli seemed emotional and was tears after victory and the time became even more special for him, as he celebrated the victory with Gayle and Villiers.
“You know, for me, why it is so special to share -with these two it is because I have shared my main years with them,” Kohli said with Gayle and Villiers who are on both sides.
“And I know how much we tried to win this. And we felt we were so close a couple of times (2011 and 2016). And we were such a good team. And we had this explosivity on our team. But we could never cross the line.
“And we all have this evil because we gave our first years to this franchise. And really, really, from the bottom of our heart, we wanted to win this title for RCB. And I promise, this feels like ten times more special just because these two are by our side,” he added.
