I remember Jewish activists who stood shoulder with Dr. Martin Luther King, and I am honored by Andrew Goodman and Michael Schurner, two young Jewish men killed in Mississippi in 1964 for defending the rights of African Americans.
This story shows how deeply the black and Jewish struggle for equality is. Standing against hatred in one form means resisting hatred in all forms. Fighting anti -Semitism is not only a Jewish problem, but also an American problem. I am proud to be a black man leading this operative group.
