Chynna Phillips shares the latest information about her and her husband Billy Baldwin‘living arrangement.
After sharing a YouTube video in November 2024 that she and Baldwin, 61, were live in separate homes because he is “allergic to each other,” Phillips, 56, is walking back that decision.
“Billy called me earlier and was like, ‘I’ve just read another article about how you want to be married living apart,'” she said in video uploaded to her YouTube channel on Sunday, December 29. “I want to clarify: at that time I felt that I needed some space and really felt that it would be the most logical solution, but I to have disregarded. I take that comment back, and I’m saying now that it’s probably a very foolish, very ill-advised, very destructive decision, because that’s not going to solve our allergy problem .”
Phillips, who has been married to Baldwin since 1995, joked that the pair “have been taking really good allergy medicine” to cope with their “allergy” to each other.
“Communication is the medicine for that allergy. It means being kind and gentle … and being more playful,” he explained. “I need more playfulness in my life, and I feel that sometimes Billy struggles with playfulness, but you know what? It’s not me, and I have to grow up and I have to realize, just because Billy isn’t always as playful as I consider myself to be, that’s not something I need to get down on him.”
Despite accepting his more serious nature, Phillips acknowledged that Baldwin has been “laughing more” and “playing more” recently, and she has felt a “shift” in their relationship.
“He’s been an amazing roommate these past few weeks,” she said. “I feel like we’re in a way, way better place.”
Phillips also praised her husband’s physical appearance, calling him “socky” and a “silver fox.”
Baldwin appeared in Phillips’ November 2024 YouTube video when he announced their decision to live in separate homes.
“We enjoy each other’s company. That’s what’s so hard to express to people: that we’re madly in love, we really enjoy being around each other, we cherish our marriage, we never want to separate,” he said during a FaceTime call with the actor. “We need some time apart, because we’re kind of allergic to each other. And it’s okay, I’m sure a lot of couples have different allergies to each other.”
Baldwin chimed in to say, “The reality is you have the allergy,” he joked that he has a “certain energy” that annoys his wife.
Phillips and Baldwin share daughters Jameson, 24, and Brooke, 20, and son Vance, 24. Phillips filed for divorce in 2010 but quickly withdrew the papers. She just said Us Weekly at the time she had “started to feel a bit flat” in her marriage.
“It was about the children and therefore about my business, his business, and I missed him. I really missed it,” she explained. “I missed laughing together, taking our little vacations together.”
