Two of the stars of TLC’s Sister Wives reveals the status of their relationship with their other ex-sister wives.
Throughout the latest season of Sister Wivesfans have seen the Brown family continue to fracture as Christine Brown, Janelle Brown a Mary Brown had left the home they once shared with her husband Kody Brown and his wife, Robyn Brown.
Now, the women are no longer part of a polygamous relationship and instead have moved on with their own separate lives. The only sister to remain married to Kody is Robyn.
During a recent episode of “Rogue Energy,” iHeart podcast, Christine and Janelle, who have remained friends and still consider each other “family” despite leaving Kody, opened up about their relationship with Meri and Robyn.
“I haven’t spoken to Meri or Robyn for years, and it’s funny,” Christine revealed. “We’ll just keep it that way. I don’t need to develop a relationship with them.”
After marrying her husband, David Woolleyin October 2023, Christine said that although Janelle attended the celebration, Meri and Robyn did not.
“A great thing about being older when you get married is that you only have to invite the people you really want to be there,” Christine continued.
“There’s no mandatory invitations that go out to uncle Bob or uncle Jed but you’re like, ‘I really don’t want him there. It goes to blah, blah, blah. He always does this blah, blah, blah.’ We didn’t have to,” Christine said on the podcast. “We only really invited our closest friends to our wedding.”
“And you were one of our closest friends,” he told Janelle. “I’m not friends with Kody or Meri or Robyn, so I didn’t have to. I just had to invite who I wanted.”
As for Janelle, she said she “had some interaction with Meri” and Kody because of property that was owned between the three of them.
“I think she’s been very happy,” Janelle said of Meri. “She’s been living her own life. Do you know what I mean? So we’ve been working cohesively to settle this property situation, which has been nice.”
“I haven’t had any contact with Robyn,” Janelle continued. “I haven’t looked for her. I don’t overlap with her in any part of my life.”
Janelle adds that she’s excited to manage herself as she moves forward, and Christine says she finally found the partner she’s been craving in her new husband.
But as the Brown families go their separate ways, Kody’s relationship with the children he shares with Janelle, Meri, and Christine has suffered.
During the latest episode of Sister WivesKody said he refuses to “cut off” his wife Robyn in order to have a relationship with his other children.
“My children will always be my children and the door will always be open for them,” he admitted, adding that the caveat is that his children must make the first move towards rebuilding their relationship. “They have to come through that door.”
“I’m going to be holding a hand out for that, but I’m going to be holding this hand that’s next to me, and I won’t let go of that hand,” he said, referring to Robyn. “I will not cut Robyn to have a relationship with my children.”
As for Christine and Janelle’s children, they agreed on the podcast that they know they have “two mothers” in them as they called their families a “success” considering how close they raised them while in a plural marriage .
