Christian Brückner refuses to interview police

The Prime Minister-dubbed Madele McCan refused to question the capital police.

MET said the international letter of the request was sent to Christian Bruckner, ahead of the quick release for a separate offense he later rejected.

The German national Bruckner, 48, has never been accused of crime against Maccan case and denied participation.

Madeleine disappeared at the Portuguese resort to Luz in 2007. She and her siblings stayed in the festive apartment, while her parents Kate and Jerry went for dinner at a nearby restaurant.

They periodically came to the children while Kate found that Madeleine was missing at about 22:00.

Bruckner is currently serving a seven-year prison term in Germany for raping a 72-year-old woman in her home in PRII before Luz in 2005.

German authorities said he will come out before Wednesday.

Det Cho Insp Mark Cranwell said Bruckner remains suspect in the Met Madeleine police investigation. He was the main suspect in German and Portuguese investigations from 2020 and 2022, respectively.

“We asked for an interview with this German suspect, but for legal reasons it can be done only through an international letter that was presented,” said the DPP Kranvel.

“The suspect refused after that. In the absence of interview, we still continue to continue any viable investigation lines.

“We cannot provide any additional information as long as the investigation is ongoing.”

The disappearance of Madelena became one of the most popular cases of missing people in the world.

German prosecutors pointed to evidence – including mobile phones – pointing out that Bruckner may have found himself in the area when she disappeared, and constantly insisted that he thought he was responsible.

However, they did not find strong evidence to charge.

Bruckner, who spent many years in Algarve, was a drift, a petty criminal and a convicted sex criminal. In 1994 and 2016, he has several preliminary beliefs, including sexual abuse.

Portuguese and German police conducted a fresh search between where the McCancing was in June this year and turned to Brookner this June, but that’s did not give a breakthrough.
