Local officials were killed in an attack by the Islamic State branch in the Northeast Democratic Republic of the Congo.
About 20 killed were fans who participated in a night vigil in the church in the city when they were attacked by the Union Democratic Forces (ADF).
The nearby shops and businesses were looted and set on fire.
The UDF appeared in Uganda in the 1990s, accusing the government of persecution of Muslims, but is now on the verge of Dr. Congo, where he regularly attacks civilians of all religions, as well as Uganda.
Since then, it has become part of the Central -African province of Islamic State, which also includes a group in Mozambique.
According to BBC monitoring research, nearly 90% of operations are carried out in Africa.
Duudonne DuranTeBo, Civil Society Coordinator in Commond, said the Associated Press that more organs can be found after the last attack.
“More than 21 people were shot inside and outside (church), and we recorded at least three burnt bodies, and several houses burned. But the search is ongoing.”
Father Aim La Deag Dega, a local priest, told AFP: “We have at least 31 dead members of the Eucharistic Movement of the Cross, with six injured. Some young people were stolen, we have no news about them.”
He added that seven more bodies were found in the city.
On the Radio Okapi website, the number of dead in 43.
The Army’s press -secretary said he could confirm 10 deaths.
In 2021, D -R Congo invited Ugandan troops to the country to help fight the ADF. The attacks, however, are still ongoing.
The team is in the rich mineral province of Dr. Congo, which has been fighting various armed groups for many years.
