Selling Sunset’s Chrishel Stause opens up about how he “froze in fear” during the LA wildfire evacuation.
The reality star, 43, shared during her appearance on Wednesday, January 15 forward Sherri that the fires and the evacuation process that followed brought back long memories of watching her home burn down as a child.
“When we needed to evacuate, a similar fire was right in our backyard. He was just like, ‘You have to go,’” she explained during the episode. “I think I’m frozen in fear. I had forgotten that when I was 12, I watched my house burn.”
Stause added that the incident was “something you don’t think about. It happened so long ago.”
However, it led her to “freeze” when it was time to evacuate. Stause credited his wife, an Australian singer G Flip (real name Georgia Claire Flipo) to take charge during the evacuation while the reality TV star struggled due to her previous experience with fires.
“You don’t know how you’re going to react. I think I would have liked to think I was good in an emergency,” Stause continued. “But this kinda showed me, I really needed a little kick in the butt, and G was there to keep me focused so it was nice to have them.”
Staus further praise G Flip via Instagram Story last week as she reflected on her traumatic childhood experience.

Stause started seeing G Flip after her breakup Jason Oppenheim in late 2021. Stause and G Flip went on to tie the knot in May 2023.
Stause opened up about her relationship with G Flip in an interview with her Vogue in June 2022, telling the outlet, “being around G (is) an uplifting experience; if you’ve ever had the pleasure of being in the same room with them, you’d quickly see what I mean. I love feeling that endless support of wanting the other person to be fully who they are.”
