Chip Giants Nvidia and AMD agreed to pay the US government 15% of their semi -ranking sales in China, BBC reported a source close to this issue.
The agreement is part of the transaction to ensure export licenses in the second largest economy in the world.
“We are following the rules that the US government set for our participation in the world markets. While we have not sent H20 to China for months, we hope that export control rules will allow America to compete in China and worldwide,” Nvidia BBC said.
AMD did not immediately respond to a comment request.
In a statement to the BBC, Nvidia also said: “America cannot repeat the 5G and lose telecommunications. Technical stack of America (artificial intelligence) can become a standard in the world when we run a race.”
