When the cannon fire responded through Tiananmen Square, even before the first set of goose troops made its way through the central Beijing Avenue, the most durable image of the day unfolded.

Chinese President Xi Jinping welcomed Kim Jong North Korean hands, and then moved to greet Russian Vladimir Putin, and then went to his place, announcing two of the most sanctioned leaders in the world.

It was a pure political theater. And this meeting – not weapons – seems to have caused US President Donald Trump.

When the parade began, Trump sent a sharply spelled out of social truth, accusing three leaders against America.

Perhaps this was the reaction to which President Si hoped he held Putin to the right, and Kim left during the parade. A moment, perhaps, was even designed to defeat the US president, which may prefer to become the focus of the world.

The Chinese leader has stolen the focus and he uses it to show his power and influence on the Alliance under the guidance of the Eastern-Counter-Country Group, which decided to push away from the world order under the leadership of the United States.

This is a strong XI message as a world impetus from the unpredictability of Trump’s presidency. In addition to Kim and Putin, there were more than 20 other foreign rulers. Just this week, XI also seemed to dump its problematic relations with the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi. A 50% of Trump’s collection in Indian imports caused thawing long -standing competitors.

The performance on Wednesday was to be honored with an 80-year victory over Japan. But it was about where China was heading – right to the top, and Syam plays the role of a global leader.

And his feet had a military person being built for the West’s competition.

China is now holding the reins

It was the first time the XI, Putin and whom were noticed together – and together they rose to the top of the gates of the heavenly peace that enters the historical square to watch the parade.

Symbolism was difficult to miss. Communist China’s founder Mao Zedong announced the founding of the republic in 1949 – and 10 years later, when he spent his grandfather Kim and the then Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev to observe the military parade.

It was the last time the leaders of the three countries were together. It was the height of the Cold War, China was isolated from most of the world, like North Korea, and the Soviet Union was the most powerful and richest among them.

Now China contains reins in this respect. Nuclear armed, but still poor, North Korea needs Beijing’s help. And Putin needs the legitimacy that XI had just provided him.

In the past, Si seemed to keep his distance from Putin and whom and publicly supported a neutral position on the war in Ukraine. He did not condemn it, but denied China helping Russia.

It seemed to be out of Baku when Russia and North Korea were closer until recently. Kim sends troops to support Putin’s invasion of Ukraine in exchange for money and technology.

But now he seems to be standing for his two neighbors, even if they continue to attack Kiev.

“Today, humanity is again faced with the choice of peace or war, dialogue or confrontation, win-win or zero,” said Mr Si, which viewed the crowd, as well as millions, glued to the parade on state television across the country.

China is a “big nation that never intimidates any bullies,” he said.

And the military parade, which followed, was about showing that it was a demonstration of power, accuracy and patriotism.

It started with a salute with a weapon – 80 times to mark 80 years after winning China over Japan in World War II, having completed a fierce occupation. The sound bounced off each corner of the square, like 50,000 spectators, some of them were a war veterans.

Following the choir, every member who appeared exactly is located when the cameras that were held above them. They sang in perfect harmony: “Without the Communist Party there is no modern China.” Each poem was outlined by the raised fists.

President Sya drove along the length of the parade route to inspect his troops before every battle took turns to the goose step past his leader. Each joint strike on the paved circulation occurs through the stands.

The rumbling tanks came first in the demonstration of new weapons in China. But they looked old compared to what they followed. A new nuclear missile that can be launched from the sea, land and air, hypersonic missiles and laser weapons to protect against drone attacks. There were new underwater and air drones that could spy on goals.

In the US, there may still be an advantage that has been honected over the years and through participation in conflicts around the world, but there is no doubt that China is building troops to compete.

And demonstration of force on Wednesday was a statement aimed at Washington and its allies, as well as in the rest of the world – and even to Putin and who knew what they looked.

“The great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation stops,” SI said in his speech, trying to strengthen the honor in the country.

West

It seems working on some people.

On the bridge overlooking the Tongui River, the crowds gathered from the main advice to try to see the military cartoon. Thirty-year-old Mr. Rong said he found a moving parade.

“Parathi this moment is the most fundamental thing we can do. We believe we will take Taiwan by 2035,” he said.

It is a rhetoric that many are afraid of the self -governed Taiwan Island, which China believes is a self -proclaimed province that will once be united with the Motherland. XI did not rule out the use of force to achieve this. And the weapon he showed on Wednesday, most of which emphasized China’s military -marital capacity, is of concern to be worried about Taiwan leaders.

Many Western countries are also worried about, especially in Europe, which still fight how to end the war in Ukraine. Many were missing at the parade.

75 -year -old Han Yongwang refused any assumption that Western leaders avoided advice.

“It depends on them or not,” he said. “They are jealous of China’s rapid development. Honestly, they are aggressive. We are completely committed to the common well -being of humanity. We are different.”

This parade fills the wave of nationalism at a time when China is struggling with serious internal problems: a sluggish economy, a real estate crisis, population aging, high unemployment and local authorities deeply debt.

As sure China appears on the world scene, SI President should find a way to avoid the middle class from concern for his future. Once upon a time, China’s economic rise was considered illegal, but this is not the case.

Thus, this parade – with all the rhetoric about the old enemy, Japan – can be desired.

After a long display of advanced weapons, including nuclear missiles, the parade ended with thousands of pigeons and balloons that came out into the sky over Beijing.

Honoring – songs, marches, rockets, drones, even “wolves -robots” – were not so much about China’s struggle.

Rather, it was about how far China came – and how it catching up and challenges it for the rule.
