Child dies of stab wounds at Croatian primary school

A seven-year-old child has died and other children have been injured in a stabbing at an elementary school in Croatia.

The country’s health minister said a teacher was also injured in a knife attack in Zagreb on Friday. The alleged attacker, a 19-year-old boy and former student, was detained at the scene, local media reported.

The photos show police, emergency personnel and forensic experts outside the building.

Croatian Prime Minister Andrei Plenkavich said that he was “horrified” by the incident at the Prečka elementary school.

Two adults and five children with injuries are in the hospital, according to the Ministry of Health.

Speaking to reporters outside a children’s hospital, Health Minister Irena Hrstic said the attacker entered the school before stabbing staff and students.
