Chelsea has completed the signature of Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United at a transfer worth 40 million £, achieving summer spending about £ 300 million.
The 21-year-old becomes the ninth arrival of Chelsea’s window, joining the colleagues of recruiting Joao Pedro, Liam Delap, Estevao and Jamie Gittens.
Its arrival increases the total expense of the club to £ 296.8 million, although the Blues also raised £ 314.4 million through the departures of 26 players, either permanently or on loan.
A commitment to Garnacho’s assessment was finally affected. The United had been for 50 million pounds, while Chelsea’s opening offer was £ 25 million.
The final share represents the largest sale of players in the United States in five years, and the club understood that it is satisfied with both the price and the resolution of the player’s future. The agreement also includes a 10 percent sale clause.
It is the fourth largest sale in the United States of all time, behind that of Cristiano Ronaldo, Romelu Lukaku and Angel di Maria, and its most lucrative departure from a homemade academic product.
Garnacho, who had moved away from Old Trafford, rejected the approaches of other clubs to ensure a change on the Stamford bridge.
At the end of last season he had been informed that he was free to leave and was not included in the preseason training plans of the new manager Ruben Amorim.
Speaking for the first time as a blues man, Garnacho said, “It’s an incredible time for my family and I to join this great club.
“I can’t wait to start. I saw the Club World Cup and join -Me in the world champions is special: we are the best team in the world! It’s amazing to be here and I’m really happy.”
