The man, who is accused of Charlie Kirk’s deadly shot, confessed to the murder of the right -wing activist in a message to his roommate, the prosecutor’s office said when they announced his seven charges.
22 -year -old Tyler Robinson left a note under the keyboard to discover his roommate, said Utah Gray Gray, Prosecutor of Utah. He added that the roommate was a romantic partner of Mr. Robinson.
According to Mr. Gray, the note states: “I had the opportunity to bring Charlie Kirk and I’m going to accept it.”
The prosecutor also shared text reports between room neighbors, including the accused allegedly stated that he had shot Kirk because he had “had enough hatred.”
The suspect is kept without bail in a special housing unit in Utah District. On Tuesday, he made a first speech to court, speaking remotely when the prosecutor’s office read seven allegations.
The allegations are an exacerbation of murder, a crime with firearms, two articles about justice, two articles of witnessing falsification and a brutal crime when children are present.
They also stated that they would seek the death penalty because of the shooting of Kirk, which was killed by one shot released from the roof when he performed at Utah -Valley university on Wednesday.
Arrested last week after a 33-hour Manhunt, Mr. Robinson did not go into the request and confessed to the police. Mr. Gray also emphasized that the suspect is innocent until the guilty was proven and the jury.
On Tuesday, he presented a check of evidence at a press conference, including the alleged recognition of the defendant and DNA found on the triggers of the rifle suspected of the crime.
Describing the allegedly hidden note on the press -conference earlier on Tuesday, Mr. Gray said that Mr.
After reading the obvious recognition, a roommate, which was not named and cooperated with investigators, replied: “What ??????????
Mr. Gray led further long exchanges of text messages between Mr. Robinson and his roommate, whom he called his romantic partner. Authorities said the transgender room neighbor is moving from a man to a woman.
In one exchange, a roommate asked Mr. Robinson why he killed Kirk.
“” I had enough of his hatred “,” Mr. Gray cited messages. “” Some hatred cannot be negotiated. “
Mr. Robinson also allegedly wrote: “Honestly, I was hoping to keep this secret until I died of old age. I’m sorry I am.”
The roommate replied: “You were not those who did it right ????”
Mr. Robinson replied, “I’m sorry.”
Mr. Gray also told more about how Mr. Robinson’s parents became suspicious that their son may have been involved in Charlie Kirk’s murder.
He said Mr. Robinson’s mother saw a video of a suspect released the day after firing and told her husband that it was like their son. Mr. Gray said she encountered Mr. Robinson over the phone, but he told her that he was sick at home on the day of shooting.
Later, his father collided with Mr. Robinson, who replied, numbered that he could take his life, the prosecutor said.
In the end, Mr. Robinson persuaded to come to his parents’ house, and until he allegedly hinted that he was the attacker. He then said he wanted to “finish”, not to go to prison, Mr. Gray said.
With the help of a family member who is a deputy sheriff retired, his parents convinced him to surrender to the police, and he was arrested on Thursday – 33 hours after firing.
The suspect also allegedly told his parents that “too much evil, and the guy spreads too much hatred,” citing a pick, the allegations said.
The mother of Mr. Robinson told the investigators that her son became more political in recent years, Mr. Gray said, becoming more supporting the rights of gays and transgenders and joining the transgender relationship.
But the prosecutor refused to answer the question whether Kirk was on his transgender views. “It’s a jury to decide,” he said.
Mr. Gray said Kirk answered the question about the mass pictures performed by the transgenders when the shot appeared. The bullet struck the kirk into his neck, and he immediately sank to the ground.
The bullet went closely by other people, including children nearby, and the person who asked the kirk, he said.
Mr. Gray said the suspect’s DNA was found on the rifle used in shooting.
He also said that Mr. Robinson’s father suspected that the weapon was in line with a rifle that once belonged to the suspect’s grandfather. After the shooting, he contacted Mr. Robinson and asked him to send a photo of the rifle, but he did not answer, Mr. Gray said.
The suspect also spoke in detail about his movements after firing in the messages sent by his roommate.
“I planned to grasp the rifle from the point soon, but most of this side of the city was closed,” he wrote, the prosecutor’s office said.
“Going to try to return it again, I hope they went on. I didn’t see anything to find it,” she allegedly read another message.
“I can approach him, but there is a car parked from it.”
Mr. Robinson is also accused of falsifying witnesses, the prosecutor’s office stated as he ordered his partner to delete his messages and remain silent when questioned.
