The Golden Globes is one of the few awards shows that serves food and drink to the star-studded audience during the broadcast, which means that celebrities occasionally eat a little too much on the big night.
In 2014, Cate Blanchett won the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama, for her role in Jasmine blue. “Well that came up. I’ve got a bit of vodka under my belt and now here we are,” she said as she arrived at the podium.
A few weeks later, she say The Telegraph that she had a few too many by the end of the show. “Unfortunately, my category came up a bit late in the evening so I was a bit of a mess,” the Australian native told the UK outlet. “Once your name is read it’s loud like nothing else so I can’t remember much. I hope I didn’t do too many things I’ll regret.”
It’s not just the winners who have to keep it together, though. Chrissy Teigen unable to control her emotions when her husband, John’s legendwon the Golden Globe for Best Original Song at the 2015 Golden Globes and became an iconic meme.
“Sorry I don’t practice my crying face ok,” she tweeted later that night after the cameras caught her pained crying face. “It’s been 5 minutes and I’m a meme.”
In February 2021, Teigen, who has since getting sobershe admitted that she would has been over-served. “Happy birthday to this drunk dmbass lmao,” he captioned an Instagram photo of the viral moment.
