A wildfire raging in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles has forced the evacuation of tens of thousands of people as it destroys homes in the upscale neighborhood, including those owned by celebrities.
The Palisades Fire, fueled by strong Santa Ana winds, started in the Santa Monica Mountains late Tuesday morning and quickly burned 200 acres within an hour, growing to nearly 3,000 acres by sunset. This is reported by the FOX forecaster.
Orange County Fire Chief Brian Fennessy joined Fox News @ Night on Tuesday to talk about how firefighters are battling the fast-moving fire, but said there’s little that can be done to stop it, so crews are focusing on evacuating and rescuing those , who is still in the area.
“Our main focus is to save people and lives from these fires,” Fennessy said. “There’s not much we can do except get people out of these fires and then try to attack them … certainly in the Palisades, that was the story today.”

Reality TV star Spencer Pratt and wife Heidi Montag, who started dating on The Hills, have lost their home in Palisade FirePratt and Montag confirmed on their Snapchat accounts on Tuesday.
In a series of videos, Pratt showed the fire moving quickly over the hill toward their home.
“Well, it doesn’t look very good,” Pratt said as he filmed the fire on the mountain behind their home. “For the first time I see the flame rise. Oh man. OK, I think, I’ll go collect things.”
He later posted a video from his car in which he claimed to have watched their house burn on security cameras.
Montag posted a video of the grocery store saying that their house was indeed on fire, but that they were safe.

Actor Chris Pratt posted on X and asked people to join him in praying for the “brave firefighters who sacrifice so much to save our homes and our city.”
“Jesus, protect the lives of those fighting the flames and the lives of those who were unable to evacuate,” Pratt wrote.

Actress Denise Crosby, also in a message on X, said she was safe with her husband and dog, but she wasn’t sure if she had a home.
Crosby shared a video from the beach Tuesday night, and that post was followed by a video taken earlier in the day showing smoke near the alley behind her home and from Sunset Boulevard.
Actor James Woods posted a series of videos on X showing his home and the homes of his neighbors engulfed in smoke and flames. Woods said his family was safely evacuated from the area and praised first responders and community members for evacuating the elementary school children in the neighborhood.
“To all the wonderful people who reached out to us, thank you for your concern. Just letting you know we were able to evacuate successfully,” Woods wrote on X. “I don’t know if our house is still standing at this point, but unfortunately there are no houses on our street.”
Professional dancer Derek Hough posted photos of the fire on his Instagram account and said he and his wife were preparing to evacuate with their pets.
“Winds are reaching 100 mph and we are packing in preparation to evacuate with our five animals JUST IN CASE,” Hough wrote. “It’s scary when power lines explode all around us and fires spread so quickly.”

Hough continued his post by thanking firefighters for “risking everything to keep us safe,” and said he was sending prayers and love to all the firefighters and victims.
