Celebrations in the West Bank on the occasion of the return of released Palestinian prisoners

The BBC’s John Donison watched in Ramallah as Palestinian prisoners freed by Israel were greeted by jubilant crowds in the West Bank.

Israel said it had released 200 Palestinian prisoners on Saturday, but about 70 were scheduled to be deported.

Earlier, four Israeli hostages returned to Israel after they were handed over to the Red Cross by Hamas in Gaza City.

This is the second installment of an Israeli hostage release and exchange of Palestinian prisoners since a ceasefire was reached earlier this month.
