Digital Fox News went to the Catholic University of America (CUA) campus in the country’s capital to get a heart rate for people on the eve of this week’s conclave.
“I am excited by the Pope who will unite the church, and I think this is really what Francis did really … I hope the next pope’s legacy will also look like this,” said one Cua student named Daniel.

The conclave must begin on Wednesday after the mourning period after Pope Francis’ death last month.

“I actually believe that the Holy Spirit directs us where we need to be a church,” said Father Erdman Pander. “I don’t think it is about politics in the Church or the people whose voices are clearly heard. I always think it is the Holy Spirit, who knows who to choose.”
One Catholic student nicknamed John predicted the transition to a more pastoral character.

The student nicknamed Eliza said, “I really don’t know, but I just hope who it is, he is doing his best to help the Catholic Church.”

One student nicknamed Taylor said she wanted the new Pope to focus on promoting “peace” in the world. “This is probably one of their biggest things that brings the world to the world and trying to find the problems they can help as a leader of our faith and just see how faith can help combine people.”
“Pope Francis came out with some rules that are not very popular with Catholics who prefer traditional Latin Mass,” said John. “I think the next Pope may have to be a little more understanding where these Catholics come from and that they prefer liturgically.”

Fox also asked the Catholics to distribute his views on the inheritance of the deceased Pope.

“I have never seen bad things and good things that stand out,” Taylor said. “I just think that the church grew up, and I would say that mostly everything is positive.”
