More than 20 years since its release, Hole remains one of Disney’s most starry films so far.
2003 film, based on the 1998 novel of the same name by Louis SacharStar Shia labeouf Like Stanley Yelnats IV, a boy whose string of family bad luck lands and serves a month -long sentence at the Green Lake Youth Preservation facility. As the title of the film suggests, the camp prisoners are forced to dig holes in the dry lake every day, all while avoiding toxic lizards, eerie yellow spots.
In forming friendship with Junior Hector “Zero” junior prisoner (Khleo Thomas), Stanley reveals secrets about his family’s history and begins with zero to break his “curse” bad luck and find a secret treasure hide belonging to one of his ancestors.
The supporting cast of the film was full of several heavy weights in Hollywood, including Sigourney weaver Like Louise Walker warden, Jon Voight Like Mr. Sir, Tim Blake Nelson Like Dr. Steve Pendanski, Patricia arquette Like Miss Katherine “Kissin ‘Kate” Barlow and more.
In January 2025, it was announced that the film would receive a sex exchange TV conversion at Disney+. “In this second assembly of the Beloved Book of 1998 by Louis Sachar, a teenage girl is sent to the reservation camp where the ruthless warden forces the campers to dig holes for a mysterious purpose,” The show log line reads, by the show’s log line, Diversity.
