Carlo Ancelotti was called “the greatest coach in history” after accepting to leave Real Madrid and lead Brazil to the 2026 World Cup.
Ancelotti, 65, will take over on May 25 after the end of the Real League season and is expected to appoint his first squad only 24 hours later.
Its first parties are the classifiers of the World Cup against Ecuador and Paraguay in June.

“Bringing Carlo Ancelotti to coach Brazil is more than a strategic movement. It is a statement to the world that we are determined to recover the top of the podium,” said CBF President Ednaldo Rodrigues.
“He is the greatest coach in history and will now be with the largest national team on the planet. Together, we will write new glorious chapters of Brazilian football.”
The CBF added that “Ancelotti begins its mission this week” at meetings with general coordinator Rodrigo Caetano and former defender Juan, the technical coordinator of the Confederation, so that he can choose his workforce.
Brazil is in fourth place in the south -American standings for the World Cup.
Ancelotti moves to international management after winning titles in Italy, England, Spain, France and Germany.
He directed Milan to the Trophy of the Champions League in 2003 and 2007, and added three more titles with Real Madrid in 2014, in 2022 and last year.
