Bakhram Murtazaliev, a middle -weight IBF champion, says no one wants to “organize” his defense of the IBF title against Erickson Lubin.
In order for this struggle to pass, PBC will need some dates to show a large headline to combine it. Murtazaliev-Lubin is not a big enough struggle to be a main attraction.
What Murtazaliev and Lubin need is for Turki Alralikh to materialize and add them to one of his letters of the Riyadh season. Although her struggle is buried in one of the letters, at least it will be done.
The ideal place would be on the Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence One on September 13. It is an event that lacks quality fights in the subcard. Adding Murtazaliev-Lubin to the event would be an immediate improvement, perhaps even overcoming the main event in terms of entertainment value for fans.
The Bakkhram Unbeaten (23-0, 17 kos) has been unlucky since he eliminated the former 154-pound Tim Tszyu Wbo champion last October. He has treated an injury in his hand and fights against Josh Kelly and Vergil Ortiz Jr., who do not occur. Now, it is a dissemination topic that delayes the defense of Murtazaliev’s title against Lubin (27-2, 19 kos).
The reputation that Bakhram has developed as bogeyman of the 154 -pound division is another reason why he has failed to take advantage of his victory over Tszyu. The way he destroyed Tim is intimidating to the other maximum fighters. None of the big names wanted to fight him.
It seems that Murtazaliev will sit for more than a year before it finally fight. In October, it will be a year since its victory over Tszyu. At this rate, Bakhram can be lucky if he fights against 2026.
For Lubin, she can’t be happy with that. He has returned to the obligatory position of the IBF winning his last three fights after being stopped in the ninth round by Sebastian Fundora in 2022. This struggle was a great mishap for Erickson, as he returned from his shameful defeat of the first round against Jermell Charlo in 2017, winning his last six struggles before the defeat with a founder.
Brother @Ericksonhammerl No one wants to organize our struggle? 🤣
