Coach Greg Hackett doubts that Terence Crawford can eliminate the upper weighing champion, Canelo Alvarez, on September 13. He has not seen this type of power of 38-ISH Crawford (41-0, 31 kos) that suggests that he could eliminate a “bull” as Canelo (63-2-2, 39 kos).
Hackett says that if they were the days of 15 round fights, he thinks Crawford would eliminate Canelo, but not in a 12 round struggle. Canelo is too hard. Bud is not the type of fighter who comes out of a eliminated as some of the fighters in other weight classes. It is more than the type that conforms to overcoming its opponents, winning a decision, collecting their salary and disappearing for a year before fighting again.
“Canelo Alvarez is the guy you have to kill. I’m not saying Crawford does not have the power to kill him, but to kill him, you must have unlimited ammunition,” said coach Greg Hackett Ysm Sports Media As to whether Terence Crawford can eliminate Canelo Alvarez on September 13.
A big punch would be needed to eliminate Canelo and should be ready to plant and trade. Crawford does not have the power or the will to keep in the trenches and fight Alvarez. He will commission it as if he always does his opponents.
Crawford’s struggle against Errol Spence was the only one in his career he aggressively fought everywhere, and it was because he fought against a drained shell. Spence had lost a significant amount of weight to reach the limit of 147 LB for this struggle, and seemed to be lethargic and slow. He had also been out of the ring for more than a year after his war against Yordenis Ugas in April 2022.
“In the days of 15 rounds, yes, because Bud is a 15 -round fighter. But in the days of twelve rounds, Nah,” Hackett said on Crawford that can end with Canelo in the old days in the early 1980’s before the 15 rounds were stopped suspending. “Canelo won’t let you kill you. It’s not the bull to get out like that. It’s just one of those oxen that keeps the barn. He made many people destroy. Maybe you can overcome it, but eliminating it? Nah.”
Crawford did not show aggression in his fight against Israil Madrimov in 154 so that he could have the opportunity to get out of Canelo. He only started to put him in Madrimov the tenth, and even then, just because he would become liabilities. Canelo will still be too dangerous for Crawford to fight the way he did it against Madrimov. He brought him inside, hitting it with capital letters. He couldn’t do it against Canelo because his interior game is too good.
Terence’s age, puncturing power
“I know he (Crawford) may hit, but I don’t know if he is a punch Freak. Crawford should fight at an almost uncontrollable pace,” Greg said about what Terence should do to stop -Canelo. But what we need to remember about Bud is that he is not a child. If Bud was 28 or 29 years old, it could be, “Oh s ***, maybe”. But he is 30 more years (Note: Crawford turns 38 on September 28). “”
Crawford’s knockouts come from connecting with counter-points that their opponents do not see coming. He has never been a huge punch in any class of weight he has struggled. Even at the age of 135, he did not have the power of former pen champion Yuriorkis Gamboa, who struggled in his third class. Gamboa struck louder than Crawford.
“This is where a type of disappearance occurs and that is why I say we will not see a stop, but we will see one of these masterclass actions.
Crawford fought at a slow rate up to 154 in his last fight after a year outside the ring. It is clearly full of weight, increasing -for Canelo’s struggle. This means that it will be slower, moving at a measured rate because it will not have the resistance that all this extra weight has.
