The lifelong friendship between George Lucas and Steven Spielberg has become the Hollywood legend at this point, from their famous Hawaii holidays that Indiana Jones gave to the world, to their Duelio Sci-Fi films in 1977, but Cameo considered an urban legend for years is still surprised for the fans of both directors. Two of the most important people in the history of Star Wars, George Lucas and Carrie Fisher, appeared secretly at the 1991 Spielberg classic Hook Like, of all things, a dancing couple flying into the air through the magic of pixie dust. Lucas who makes appearance is a fun goal with Spielberg, but Fisher inclusion is not as random as it seems, after all, she helped write the Robin Williams Peter Pan Classic Instant Classic.
While Tinkerbell (Julia Roberts) Bringing Peter back to Neverland, she flies them over London Bridge when her pixie dust collapses on a couple, who kisses and dances as they float into the air. Both Star Wars icons are impossible to make out, but for Hook’s -25th birthday, the wrapped confirmed with Carrie Fisher It was herself that she and George were. The unlikely pairing, on the screen anyway, adds to the legend of the famous Spielberg production only.
The Star Wars duo wasn’t the only Gameo in HookFeaturing Glenn Close as a Sea -a Lady alongside David Crosby and Jimmy Buffet, while his fellow passage Phil Collins is one of London’s best. Gwyneth Paltrow is the young Wendy Darling, and Maggie Smith plays him as an older woman, and while Smith was royalty of the stage, the Jordan queen visited the film while it was being produced. Spielberg was approaching the height of his powers in 1991, which is why he was able to get so many famous faces to appear in his children’s film, but as good as he was (and he), he had some help behind the scenes from Fisher.
Carrie Fisher will be forever attached to her role as at least a Star Wars franchise, but away from the spotlight, she was one of Hollywood’s most popular script doctors, punching films including Hook. Singer of the marriage. Scream 3and The last action hero. Often not accredited, she helped her talent as a writer to turn countless films into hits, and even George Lucas relyed on her for the prequels, although she is unlikely to be the one who wrote about how Anakin hates sand. Fisher talent added depth to the female characters and sneaked in jokes, but even could not perform miracles.
And it was a miracle that Hook turned out as well as he did, with the production doing Star Wars: New Hope Looks like a slick and oily machine compared. Speilberg, not a fan of his own film, would be recorded later about how it fell behind, and the budget, which was a balloon to $ 80 million, continued to expand as the sets became more elaborate and the shooting days dragged on. Famously, Julia Roberts was referred to as “Tinkerhell” by the crew, Moniker that the rising star did not deserve, as it happened to be a target for the tabloids at the time
Like Star Wars, Hook has become a masterpiece of a generation passed down from the Gen-Xers and the Millennials who saw it in theaters for their own children, as everyone goes through that stage where tThe coolest thing has ever lost a boys skate park hide. And of course, Rufio (Avatar The last Airbender Dante Basco) is the coldest child of the 90s ever with his Xtreme attitude (90s children know that is right) and of course, Bangarang. Love him or hate him, Robin Williams As Peter Pan’s Middle Age crisis is one of the star’s iconic roles, and while Spielberg may not like the film, it is one of the most nostalgic films of the 90s, and the next time you watch it (because it has no annual re-watching), look out for George Lucas and Cherrie Fisher first.
