The controversy of the pitch Eden Gardens has taken a new sensational turn, with the Bengal Cricket Association (CAP) that took severe actions in the middle of the IPL 2025. In a bold but impactful movement, the CAP has officially asked the Cricket Control Board in India (BCCI) to ban Harsha Bhogle and Simon Doull to comment on Eden Gardens.

Several captains and coaches of the IPL have already raised complaints about Eden’s surface this season, blaming the commissioners not to provide launches that meet their expectations. But it was the public outburst of Doull and Bhogle who did not go well with CAP officials.

Now, the cabin wants the BCCI to take strong actions against the two known voices of the Cricket, accusing them of damaging the reputation of the ground and the curator. Cab believes that Pitch Commissioner Sujan Mukherjee has done his job fairly, strictly following the BCCI rules.

CAP writes a strong letter to the BCCI against Harsha Bhogle and Simon Doull

Revsportz cited a cabin source: “The State Association has written a strong letter to the BCCI, urging them not to allow Harsha Bhogle and/or Simon Doull to comment on any of the parties in the Eden Gardens.

The cabin is clear that Mukherjee has not done anything bad and only follows the BCCI rule book, which states that no franchise can say about the nature of the pitch. He has also followed the guidelines on how the wick should be prepared. “

The BCCI has not yet officially responded to the cabin letter, but Bhogle and Doull will not be part of the KKR party comments team vs GT at Eden Gardens on April 21. It will be interesting to see if they are called again for any of the other matches on the site.

What did Simon Doull and Harsha Bhogle say?

Previously, Simon Doull said that if the Commissioner of the Eden Gardens continues to ignore the demand of KKR, the team led by Ajinkya Rahane should think of moving their land to a new precinct.

Douull said that Cricbuzz said, “If he (the curator) has no attention from what the home team wants … I mean they pay the stadium rates and pay what is happening in the IPL, but if he does not pay attention to the stadium team, and just leave the franchise elsewhere. His job is not to go through the game.

Harsha also echoed DOULL feelings. The Indian commentator had said in the same program: “If they play at home, they should receive the clues that they think are suitable for their bowls. I saw something (about) what the KKR curator said.”
